What this world needs is not another one hit wonder with an axe to grind, another two bit politician peddling lies, another three ring circus society…What this world needs is not another sign waving super saint that’s better than you, another ear pleasing candy man afraid of the truth, another prophet in an Armani suit.

What this world needs is a Savior who will rescue, a Spirit who will lead. A Father who will love them in their time of need. That’s what this world needs

What this world needs is for us to care more about the inside than the outside. Have we become so blind that we can’t see that God’s gotta change her heart before He changes her shirt?

What this world needs is for us to stop hiding behind our relevance, blending in so well that people can’t see the difference and it’s the difference that sets the world free.

People aren’t confused by the gospel, they’re confused by us. Jesus is the only way to God
but we are not the only way to Jesus. This world doesn’t need my tie, my hoodie, my denomination or my translation of the Bible. They just need Jesus. We can be passionate about what we believe but we can’t strap ourselves to the gospel ’cause we’re slowing it down. Jesus is going to save the world but maybe the best thing we can do, is just get out of the way.

“We were ment to be more than this-oh and we weren’t made to fight wars like this. Somethings gone wrong. We’ve been broken. Who can fix us now-fix us now. We were made out of love not hate-oh and we weren’t ment to give up on fate. Somethings gone wrong. We’ve been broken. Who can fix us now? Fix us now!”

We are broken in every single possible way. Our spirits have been crushed and our souls jaded. Evil has infected us and dragged us down. Children are victims and criminals. Those brought up to lead us are no better than those we aim to bring down.

Our family unit is in shambles. Its not about gay vs straight anymore. Its about a loving home where parents don’t scream in front of the kids and where the home is a safehaven from the evils of the world. Its about protecting our future and maintaining our sanity.

The schools are a warzone. the day is here when we need armed security in the halls because the evil is making its way into them as well.

We have let our lives shatter like a glass that has been pushed off a counter. We have not even attempted to stop it. We have let trouble seep into our lives and our homes. It is time to grab the glue and do some damage control.

Forget gun control. Let’s start with media control. News media to be exact. When our idols are pop stars with drinking troubles and the killers are sensationalized our kids get the wrong ideas put in their heads. We just had a photographer killed while trying to get a picture of a pop star.

The priorities are skewed. They care more about ratings then the viewers. They put death, war and murder in the front of the reports and use the positive reports for fillers during the final credits. Our front pages are rife with constant negative news. We need to reverse it.

After we fix that, we need to move to equality. No one is more violent and defensive than when they are backed into a corner. Weither or not you agree with a religion, lifestyle or political stance dosent matter. We need to learn to accept the person. Many of these violent killers were cracked because they were excluded and pushed aside.

Our country is broken. Our faith is shattered and our love is empty. Its time to take back our lives and our country. Its time to rebuild the foundation of our lives and create a secure future.

Do more than live today folks-make a difference. Make a change.

a quickie

Just a quickie for the day….

I’m here at work and it occurs to me that the saying “are you a man or a mouse?” Is rather inacurate. Watching people go about their daily lives and routines it seems to me that people are more like ants.

They wander around in a daze…doing the same thing day in and day out. If you throw a wrench into their routine they go nuts. They loose their minds and have no clue what to do.  Mice are at least smart enough to go around an obsitcal. Ants (and people) just stop and stare going “wtf?! Now what? I am so lost!”

With that in mind…go live like a mouse (observant and spry and roll with the punches) instead of an ant.

Tomorrow is the day. I never thought id make it this far. Not everyone with my condition do. not that I have some terminal disease. Its just that congenital heart defects can cut life short. My best friend died of the same thing at the age of 20 and tomorrow I turn 30.

I’m not complaining. I’m just saying…wow. life never is what you expect. Thank god.

Let’s all go live, shall we?

Matthew 5:5 Blessed are those who are humble (or meek) for they will inheret the earth.

Humble-adj- Not proud or haughty, angry or assertive.

Meek-adj- Enduring injury withpatience and without resentment.

I find the fact that the bible can interchange “meek” and “humble” so simply says a lot for this statement. It means that to inheret the earth, you need to be both.

Back in jesus day this way almost a laughable statement. The romans and every other society that wanted to rule did it through power and force. That ment defending yourself took anger and fighting back. The idea that someone who was not angry or assertive could rule the world-HA!

That’s why the idea of a baby in a manger was so hard for them to wrap their heads around. They were looking for a warrior king. A leader on a white horse to slay the evil rulers. Instead he came as a meek baby. You see-the powerfull will fight eachother and kill eachother. Those left will be the humble and wise.

Remember that as you go about your day. Stay humble. Don’t hold a grudge and keep a cool head.

Now-go live.

Little mary had a lamb
Who’s fleece was black as night
When mary went out with her lamb
Folks said it isn’t right

Jackie horner in the corner
With little boy blue
Mother hubbard had a cupboard
Where her ganja grew

Were dreaming of a fairy tale land
Where everyone is happy and things are right
Were not in a fairy tale world
We lock our doors up every night

Jack and jill went up that hill
Now jack is doing time
Jill is in the hospital
But the babys doing fine

All the kings and princes
Are screaming gun control
Oblivious that in the woods
Lies hansel and gretel

Were dreaming of a fairy tale world
Where everyone is happy and things are right
Were not in a fairy tale world
We lock our doors up every night

Were dreaming of a legendary land
Where everyone is nice and life is grand
But our kids hold eachother tight
Playing hide and seek with an evil man

What’s heppend to our stories?
What have we become?
It used to be immorality
Was driving fast and chewing gum.

Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Mourn:V-To feel sad at the death of someone or to show ones sadness though a traditional act of sorrow for the dead.

Even though this verse is short and may seem simple, It is full of meaning. Mourning is a state of pain and sadness. When a child falls and hurts themselves or discovers the death of a loved pet, they go to the person in their life who, in their mind, can ease their pain: Their parents.

When my son hits his head or falls and scrapes his leg he cries and comes running to my wife or me. Our comfort eases his pain. Now, in all reality we have done nothing physically to cause the pain to cease, but the feeling of sympathy, safety and security eases his pain none the less.

When we loose a loved one to death or experience a break in a relationship we begin to mourn. The fact that Jesus used this term says a lot. You can mourn the loss of a pet or a loved one but no matter how strong the pain, God is always there to comfort you.

Just as a child runs to their parents, so we can run to God. He is our heavenly father. If a hug or a kiss from us can ease a child’s pain, how much greater is the power of God to ease our pain? Luke 5:31 says “Jesus answered them (the Pharisees) ‘It is the sick who need a doctor, not those who are in good health'”Jesus was called the great physician, not just because he healed the body, but the spirit too too. All we need to do is come before him.

now…go and live-happy.
