in Genesis, the first book of the Bible, God is present a speaking the creation existence. God speaks the word and it happens: heaven and earth, ocean and streams, trees and grass, birds and fish, animals and humans. everything seen and unseen, called into being by Gods spoken word.

In deliberate parallel to the opening word Genesis, John presents God as speaking Salvation into existence. this time Gods word takes on human form and enters history as the person of Jesus. Jesus speaks the word and it happens: forgiveness and judgement, healing and illumination, mercy and grace, joy and love, freedom and resurrection. everything broken and fallen, sinful and diseased, called into salvation by God’s spoken word.

For, somewhere along the line things went wrong and are in desperate need of fixing. the fixing it is all accomplished by speaking – God speaking Salvation into being in the person of Jesus. Jesus, in this account, not only speak the word of God; he is the word of God.

Keeping company with these words, we begin to realize that are words are more important than we ever supposed. saying “I believe”, for instance marks the difference between life and death. Our words accrue dignity and gravity in conversations with Jesus. for Jesus doesn’t impose Salvation as a solution; he narrates Salvation into being through leisurely conversation, intimate personal relationships, compassionate responses, passionate prayer, and – putting it all together – a sacrificial death. we don’t casually walk away from words like that

–what follows is a lyrical message. An examination of the world through song and thought.–

“I’m sick of all your rules. They’re so man-made. You treat them all like fools, you put my name to shame. I’m everything your not. I give them love. My ways you have forgot, you put yourselves above.”

As a group, the modern church is so engraned with rules and regulations that what was once a loving relationship is now a religion and dictatorship. “You must do this, you must be this way and you must do what we say” is the mantra of the modern church. Christ came into this world not with a condeming bang, but with a quiet whisper.  He grew in love and lived in love. He accepted and helped. He did not push people away because of their faults, rather he drew them closer in spite of those faults.

“Ill testify, its time to see religion die. The truth can’t lie, its time to see religion die.who cares who’s right, its time to see religion die. Ill crush the fight, its time to see religion die.”

I have spoken out adamantly, time and again about my distain for religion. Religion is not what christ taught. Religion is rules and regulations. Its what the pharasees and pious leaders of the day reveled in. They made the rules and enforced them in a iron fist mentality. there are still groups that do this today. It is time for religion to be abolished. Rules such as those held by hardcore religions have no place in what should be a loving relationship.

“The church is not inside your building walls. On sundays you all hide, while the world just falls. Now go into the world and destroy hell. You have authority, use it for the kill.”

Modern church has a faulty view of what fellowship means. Christ did not build churches or even command his followers to. He stood in open fields and hilltops and spoke about truths and love. Anyone was welcome. Young, old, rich or poor. Gay or straight. Man or woman. All christ asked is that they paid attention to his words. He never condemed them. The only time he went into a church to teach was when he had a message for the pharasees. Christ instructed his followers, rather to go into the world and teach to everyone. To undermind the devil at every point on the globe. Now, if you have a building for services, cool. But this doesnot make you the church or a church. David koresh had “a church”, but that didn’t make him a church.

Children come away with me. I want you all to be mine. I am taking back what’s mine and you’ve killed too much time with pointing all your fingers at your kids, that’s why they’re lost. Try to look deep in their eyes. You will see suicide. Blame it on yourself because no else will pay you price.”

We have wasted time and energy pointing out faults I each other and putting ourselves up on pedistals. There is a whole generation that has been taught that they are a waste. The don’t follow the rules of religion. The have peircings and tattoos and listen to metal. They accept people for who they are and love unconditionally. They are gay and straight and don’t hate others because they are. They know that no matter your choice of lifestyle or your skintone, you are loved. They also have learned that this is concidered wrong and they have a deep conflict. The generations before them have pounded rules into their heads. Rules that are faulty. As a result, life becomes hard to understand. This opens up the door for doubt and self loathing. We MUST end this cycle.

“Do not be afraid. Religion is manmade. Everything is ok. The rules have just been changed.”

Now…go live, go love and be truely christlike.

A preacher shuns his brother, because his brides a different color. This is not acceptable-his papa taught him so. It was love that he’d been preaching, but this was over reaching. The boundries streaching further than his heart would choose to go.

Like an angel with no wings. Like a kingdom with no kings.

Mom and dad are fighting, as rosie lies there crying. Once again she’s overheard regrets of their mistake. With christmas bells ringing, little rosie leaves them grieving. The gift she’d give her family would be the pills she takes.

Like a inconvenient child. She wasn’t worth their while.

What have we become? A self indulgent people. Tell me where are the rightous ones? In a world degenerated, what have we become?

Speak your mind, look out for yourself. The answer to it all is a life of wealth. Grab all you can, cuz you just live once. You have the right to do whatever you want. Don’t worry bout others or where you came from. It ain’t what you were, its what you have become.

WHAT ABOUT LOVE? WHAT ABOUT GOD? WHAT HOLINESS? WHAT ABOUT MERCY, COMPASSION AND SELFLESSNESS?

What have we become? Have we come undone?

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO ALL MY READERS.
                                  I LOVE U ALL.

What this world needs is not another one hit wonder with an axe to grind, another two bit politician peddling lies, another three ring circus society…What this world needs is not another sign waving super saint that’s better than you, another ear pleasing candy man afraid of the truth, another prophet in an Armani suit.

What this world needs is a Savior who will rescue, a Spirit who will lead. A Father who will love them in their time of need. That’s what this world needs

What this world needs is for us to care more about the inside than the outside. Have we become so blind that we can’t see that God’s gotta change her heart before He changes her shirt?

What this world needs is for us to stop hiding behind our relevance, blending in so well that people can’t see the difference and it’s the difference that sets the world free.

People aren’t confused by the gospel, they’re confused by us. Jesus is the only way to God
but we are not the only way to Jesus. This world doesn’t need my tie, my hoodie, my denomination or my translation of the Bible. They just need Jesus. We can be passionate about what we believe but we can’t strap ourselves to the gospel ’cause we’re slowing it down. Jesus is going to save the world but maybe the best thing we can do, is just get out of the way.

Broken

“We were ment to be more than this-oh and we weren’t made to fight wars like this. Somethings gone wrong. We’ve been broken. Who can fix us now-fix us now. We were made out of love not hate-oh and we weren’t ment to give up on fate. Somethings gone wrong. We’ve been broken. Who can fix us now? Fix us now!”

We are broken in every single possible way. Our spirits have been crushed and our souls jaded. Evil has infected us and dragged us down. Children are victims and criminals. Those brought up to lead us are no better than those we aim to bring down.

Our family unit is in shambles. Its not about gay vs straight anymore. Its about a loving home where parents don’t scream in front of the kids and where the home is a safehaven from the evils of the world. Its about protecting our future and maintaining our sanity.

The schools are a warzone. the day is here when we need armed security in the halls because the evil is making its way into them as well.

We have let our lives shatter like a glass that has been pushed off a counter. We have not even attempted to stop it. We have let trouble seep into our lives and our homes. It is time to grab the glue and do some damage control.

Forget gun control. Let’s start with media control. News media to be exact. When our idols are pop stars with drinking troubles and the killers are sensationalized our kids get the wrong ideas put in their heads. We just had a photographer killed while trying to get a picture of a pop star.

The priorities are skewed. They care more about ratings then the viewers. They put death, war and murder in the front of the reports and use the positive reports for fillers during the final credits. Our front pages are rife with constant negative news. We need to reverse it.

After we fix that, we need to move to equality. No one is more violent and defensive than when they are backed into a corner. Weither or not you agree with a religion, lifestyle or political stance dosent matter. We need to learn to accept the person. Many of these violent killers were cracked because they were excluded and pushed aside.

Our country is broken. Our faith is shattered and our love is empty. Its time to take back our lives and our country. Its time to rebuild the foundation of our lives and create a secure future.

Do more than live today folks-make a difference. Make a change.

My friends, there are many common misconceptions in history. Like the idea that we came from monkeys or the idea that the NRA is actually the modern form of the KKK. These are things people have been told throughout the years. These are actually as believable as most other things people have been told that are untrue. Things such like aids was invented to kill off the African nation, the holocaust and moon landings were staged and Jesus is dead. All bold, all lies and all believed by one group of people or another.  There is, however a difference between lies and misconceptions.

When it comes to “religion” there are a great deal of misconceptions. One such myth is that Christianity is a religion. This is a lie. Christianity, true Christianity is a relationship; a relationship with God.  People think all “faiths” are religions so they blame them for whatever they can. From the inquisition (which, to correct the misconception, was one king set out to kill Christians, not the other way around) to our current war. The truth is that Christians (true Christians) have never started a war, never attacked another belief or turned to murder.  Islam and their “jihad” is a war that they started against Christianity, not the other way around. The bible says “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the powers and principalities of this present darkness” meaning that the war we fight is in the spirit realm. When our ancestors left Europe it was because the Catholic Church and the king wanted everyone to believe the same thing, to follow the line of Catholicism.  The pilgrims wanted to follow the teachings of Jesus and be Christians, and for this, the Church of England attacked them and tried to force them back.

The fight for Christian religious freedom has always been a defense rather than an offense.  Ever since the birth of Christ, Christians have been attacked and forcibly silenced. It has not been a hard thing to do because there is too much dissention in Christianity itself. There are too many “Denominations” and not enough acceptances. There are people who have gotten too religious about what is a simple relationship. They think that it is one of rules and regulations. To follow rules is not, in and of itself, bad. It is when one starts to look down upon others for not following their rules. God gave us a short list of things he requires, then he gave us a list of things he has an opinion on. Things he likes, dislikes and outright hates.  He knows we are not perfect and are bound to do something he doesn’t like. That’s where forgiveness comes in.

Then there are the rules given to kings and leaders, like David or Moses.  Rules like animal sacrifice and how we should dress and what to eat; rules that changed when Jesus died and rose again. Now, it should not be held against you if you choose to follow some of the old law. I’m all for it, actually. Some of it helps keep us on our toes and closer to being in the world and not of it. My problem is the zealots who tell us that we are going to hell for things we wear, music we listen to and the company we keep.  Like the guys on the corner that scream condemnation (Christ came to save the world, not condemn it) telling the homosexual community that it is ALL bound for hell. Jesus never said “gays go to hell” or anything like it. God says he does not like homosexuality but never says it is a damnable offense.  Here is a bold statement: you CAN be a gay Christian. Christians do things that God disapproves of all the time. Lie, steal, covet and lust. These are all things you have to deal with between you and God, but again, none are damnable offenses.

These same guys tell us long hair sends us to the same horrid end as being gay. Really now, would a loving God send you to hell for your hair. They quote first Corinthians chapter eleven and tell us it is a shame for a man to have long hair. A shame it says. Well, there are a lot of things that are a shame. It’s a shame I have a headache, it’s a shame coffee gives me heartburn. It says it’s a shame, not a sin. You keep your hair short because of this verse, fine. I’m ok with it. It’s your decision, just don’t tell me I’m going to hell because mines long. (It’s not-I’m just making a point) It’s a shame those people don’t keep reading and find the verses right below it that say “BUT if there is anyone contentious (controversial, touchy or arguable) among you, against such we have no law in ANY of the churches of God” in other words: get on to what’s important! (By the way you want a longer version, of what inspired this part, look up the name “Mark Lowry”, a wise but funny man.)

The music one is easy to come back at. They say that “Christian rock” is just as evil as “other rock” and the 4/4 beat is the devils rhythm. God says “make a joyful noise…praise him with the stringed instruments (guitars-both bass and acoustic, along with the harp and lyre) and praise him on the cymbals (they are found on drum sets, right?)” So if our instruments are specifically requested by God, and our lyrics our uplifting and praising Him, where is the problem. Oh yea…I forgot…were talking about a pious, condemning religious zealot; the kind that give Christians a bad name.  Who has the duct tape?

Oh and by the way, if I wear a Mohawk, colorful hair, crazy clothes and odd piercings and tattoos, don’t tell me I’m going to hell for that either. God looks at what is in our souls, not on our skin. Every generation has a style that previous ones have looked down on.  God forbid (which he doesn’t) I look like an individual and non conformist. No sin there either street corner dudes. I had a friend we’ll call “Tony”. He wore crazy jewelry, punk clothes with crazy designs, his hair changed color and styles on a daily basis, and he listed to Christian rock music and hung out with atheists, bisexuals, liars and sinners. Do you want to know what he did with his life? He loved them unconditionally. He died at the age of twenty and is, without a shadow of a doubt, in heaven right now.

So if you tell me your god sends punks, rockers, and hippies to hell, and that being gay, a sinner or not following one or two of YOUR churches rules is a one way ticket to hell, then I tell you I am glad I don’t worship your god. My God says that ALL who come before him and believe will receive eternal life. He doesn’t demand perfection; he just asks that you listen.

If you read this and are my friend or family and think “I am one of those things, a zealot or a liar, an old law follower or a homosexual” I tell you this: I love you. I don’t care what you do or what you believe, I love you. I will NEVER look down upon you for your views, lifestyle or faith choices. Whether gay, straight, Christian or Buddhist, I still love you. I don’t require you to believe the same as me or even agree with me to be my friend or family. All I ask is that you listen when I rant, think hard about your retorts (I welcome them by the way) and accept me for my choices and views; and if you cannot, and you choose to end your time with me, I am truly sorry for that.

Now go live.
